Het project is gelegen op de Botermarkt, tegenover de stadshal. Het terrein maakt deel uit van de gebogen gevelwand van de Botermarkt die aansluit op het Sint-Baafsplein. In 1912 zijn er op het terrein drie woningen opgetrokken in een eenheidsarchitectuur in eclectische stijl. Dit ter verfraaiing van de binnenstad voor de wereldtentoonstelling van 1913. In de loop der jaren worden de woningen opgesplitst in zeven appartementen en een horecaruimte op het gelijkvloers.
